Dear Friends and Neighbors,
If you’ve been reading my e-mail updates, you know what the news is from the Legislature! How about hearing, as Paul Harvey would say, “the rest of the story!” All you need is a telephone and questions.
Next Tuesday evening, Jan. 24, I’m holding a telephone town hall meeting live from Olympia. Hundreds of people from throughout the 39th District will be on the telephone line — just like you — with their questions and to hear the rest of the story from the state Capitol.
We have a budget shortfall of $1.5 billion. But did you know we have a projected revenue stream of nearly $2 billion more than the previous budget cycle? So why do we have a deficit?
Why did the governor propose billions of dollars in new transportation fees, but left off Highway 2 (one of the most deadliest highways in the state) from the project list she’s proposed in her transportation revenue package?
These are some of the many questions as the Legislature moves through its scheduled 60-day session.
So mark your calendar! Save the date: Jan. 24 – 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Call toll-free, 1-877-229-8493. When prompted, enter PIN code 15786.
Join me in this community conversation and hear the rest of the story!
In your service,
Dan Kristiansen
