Rep. Dan Kristiansen statement on the passing of WSU President Elson Floyd
House Republican Leader Rep. Dan Kristiansen, R-Snohomish, released the following statement on the passing of Washington State University President Elson Floyd:
“I am saddened by the passing of Dr. Elson Floyd. Our state has lost a visionary leader who cared deeply for his university, students and communities. This was reflected in all of my interactions with him over the years.
Part of Dr. Floyd’s legacy will be providing students with more access to higher education and expanding Washington State University throughout our state – including Everett. I worked with him on this project and found him to be innovative, collaborative and dedicated.
Like most great leaders, Dr. Floyd’s accomplishments reach beyond his profession. He was a true gentleman who loved his family. I grieve with them during this difficult time.”
