Inclement weather forces cancellation of Kristiansen telephone town hall tonight

With upwards of three to five inches of snow accumulation in Olympia and more forecasted to fall, Rep. Dan Kristiansen has decided to cancel his telephone town hall meeting that was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight.
Kristiansen, R-Snohomish, said he wanted to ensure the safety of the call center staff, as well as make sure everyone in the 39th District who wishes to participate has the opportunity to do so.
“By all appearances and forecasts, the weather doesn't look like it will improve before this evening. Roads are icy, temperatures are dropping, and there's heavy snowfall in Olympia,” said Kristiansen. “Several people from the call center staff work on both computers and telephones during the teleconference, and some weren't even able to make it in to the office today. For those who did, I want to make sure they can be safely home with their families this evening before the weather gets worse. The 39th District also received heavy snowfall and the after-work commute times will likely be much longer, which could exclude people from being home near their telephones when the teleconference begins. So for these reasons, I felt it's the best decision to cancel tonight and re-schedule for a future time.”
Kristiansen has re-scheduled the telephone town hall meeting for April 5 at 6:30 p.m.
“Hopefully, we'll have much better weather by April,” added Kristiansen. “Citizen involvement with state government is very important, and that's why I've hosted these teleforums. So in the meantime, I encourage people to continue contacting my office with their questions and comments about legislation and activities in the Legislature.”
