Lake Stevens teen serves as legislative page in state House

Kaylee Mackey, a student at Cavelero Mid High School, Lake Stevens, recently served as a page in the Washington House of Representatives. She was sponsored by Rep. Dan Kristiansen, R-Snohomish.
As a page, Kaylee observed the Legislature in action and was responsible for delivering messages and documents to legislators in their offices, committee meetings and the House chamber during floor sessions. She also continued her studies for two hours during the day.
To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor and be between the ages of 14 and 16. Additionally, pages are required to obtain written permission from their parents and school.
Kaylee is the 14-year-old daughter of Mike and Krista Mackey of Lake Stevens.
